I Heart Face's “Friendship” Photo Challenge for October

I Heart Face's “Friendship” Photo Challenge for October

This month's photo challenge is "Friendship".   My entry is from a wedding I did awhile back.  I was shooting the Bride and Bridesmaids and these long time friends go tickled at something.  I am glad I caught the moment.  After about 8 minutes of uncontrollable laughter between them and all of us laughing at their laughing.  It was a great moment and reminds me why I am a photographer.

Here is my entry!

Edited using Photoshop CS6 with Nik Plugins

I hope you enjoy!

I Heart Face's “Enjoying Life” Photo Challenge for July

This month's photo challenge is "Enjoying Life".  One photo came to mind when I saw this topic.  Recently, we took a family vacation to the beach.  Me, my wife, son, daughter and mother-in-law all went.  A few years back I had taken a picture of my son walking down the beach holding his Granda's hand.  Here is what it looks like:

This time we had my daughter.  So we got this shot of the both of them walking with Granda.  If that's not "Enjoying Life", then I don't know what is.  Grand parents are so great.

Here is my entry!

I hope you enjoy!

Worldwide Photo Walk Photo Contest | Enter to WIN a Lensbaby!

Here is my entry for the contest:

This shot was taken in downtown Lexington, KY.  I was walking along and looked down this alley and saw a bunch of pigeons on the roof edge.  I thought the stark contrast of the black silhouette of the bird against the blue sky was great.

This shot is pretty much all straight out of camera.  I did minor adjustments in PS CS6.

I hope you enjoy!

IHF's Fix It Friday

This week's FIF is this image:

Here is my fix and how I did it:

Here's what I did.

Using PS CS6, I opened the original.  Made a background layer to work off of.  Opened my Nik plugin Viveza 2 to adjust Brightness and shadow/highlights.  Then I opened Nik plugin Color Efex 3 to use the lighten/darken tool.  This brought the edges a bit darker and lightened up the middle.  Last, I made another background copy and lassoed both eyes.  I adjusted the Vibrance of them and then did some face smoothing.  I also used the Dodge tool to lighten up under her eyes.

That's it!  Hope you enjoyed it!
